1. Information We Use
Mithaq may use limited information and device permissions to provide core app features such as prayer times, Qibla direction, reminders, spiritual activity tracking, content delivery, and app stability monitoring.
Location data
The app may request approximate or precise location access to calculate accurate prayer times, determine Qibla direction, and show map-based features for your area.
- Purpose: Prayer-time calculation, Qibla direction, and nearby or map-based religious features.
- Processing: Coordinates are processed in the app and may be sent to prayer-time, geocoding, or map providers when the related feature is used.
- Storage: The app may save your selected or last-known location on your device. Mithaq does not continuously track your location or maintain a location-history database.
Notifications and reminder data
Mithaq uses local notifications and may use push notification services to deliver prayer alerts, reminders, and service-related notices.
- Purpose: Adhan alerts, reminder scheduling, and app communication.
- Push token: A device token may be generated by notification providers such as Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Spiritual activity and app preferences
Information you enter or generate in the app may include completed prayers, Quran and Adhkar activity, Tasbeeh counts and custom phrases, spiritual goals, streaks, bookmarks, reminder preferences, calculation settings, and Zakat values.
- Local storage: These records and preferences are generally stored on your device.
- Habit synchronization: Prayer-completion and streak records may be mirrored to Firebase Cloud Firestore under a device identifier so the tracking service can preserve and synchronize recent activity.
- Zakat: Zakat values and calculation preferences are processed and saved locally by Mithaq and are not included in the habit synchronization described above.
Device, analytics, and diagnostics data
Release versions of the app may use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring to understand feature usage, diagnose failures, and improve responsiveness.
- Examples: App-instance or device identifiers, device model, operating-system and app versions, feature interactions, performance traces, diagnostic logs, and crash reports.
- Purpose: Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
Content and network requests
When you use online Quran, Hadith, Tafsir, radio, video, map, update, or configuration features, the app may contact Firebase, Google, or other content providers. Those providers receive ordinary network information such as your IP address, request details, and device or app metadata.
2. How Your Data Is Used
- To calculate and display prayer times and Qibla direction.
- To schedule and deliver Adhan and reminder notifications.
- To save your preferences, spiritual activity, and progress.
- To provide Quran, Hadith, Tafsir, audio, video, map, and remote-configuration content.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve app stability.
- To maintain and secure the services connected to the app.
3. Third-Party Services
Mithaq may rely on trusted third-party providers that process limited technical data according to their own privacy policies.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Most app preferences, bookmarks, notification settings, Tasbeeh data, Zakat settings, and content progress are stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the app, locally stored data may be removed, subject to your device backup and restore settings.
Habit and streak records mirrored to Cloud Firestore are associated with a device identifier rather than a Mithaq account profile. Diagnostic, analytics, messaging, and remote content providers retain data according to their own policies and service settings. We retain cloud data only for as long as reasonably needed to provide, secure, and improve the app.
Mithaq does not require a personal account containing your name, email address, or phone number. If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your request.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information used by the app. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices and Data Requests
- You can deny or revoke location and notification permissions in device settings, although related features may then be unavailable.
- On supported Android versions, exact-alarm and full-screen notification access are managed in special app-access settings. Full-screen access is optional; ordinary notification delivery can continue without it.
- You can clear local app data through your device settings or by uninstalling the app, subject to device backup behavior.
- You may contact us to request access to or deletion of cloud habit data associated with your device. We may need information from the app or device to locate the relevant record.
7. Children's Privacy
Mithaq is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page along with an updated effective date.
